Instructions
In the mixing bowl of a stand mixer (or in a large mixing bowl using a dough whisk), knead together the warm water, yeast, milk, sugar, oil, egg, salt and flour (adding 1/2 cup at a time until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl and is tacky).
Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes. Remove the dough from the bowl onto a greased surface and divide it into 8-10 equal parts. Form each part into a ball and place on a greased pan about 3 inches apart.
Flatten the dough balls slightly. Cover and let the dough rise for 30-45 minutes. If desired, mix together the egg and water and brush onto each dough ball and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 12-18 minutes until the buns are browned. Cool on a cooling rack until ready to use. Slice the buns in half and top with your favorite fillings. Enjoy!
