Are you looking for another delicious and easy way to use your sourdough starter? Look no further! This recipe bakes up the most amazing waffles and pancakes. I promise everyone will be coming back for more!
The key to this recipe is starting the night before to get the perfect sourdough flavor that these breakfast treats deserve. Start tonight before bed and your family will be thanking you in the morning.
The evening before (or about 8 hours prior to) baking, mix together the flour, sugar, milk and sourdough starter in a large mixing bowl. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator overnight (or throughout the day if you want to do a breakfast for dinner). When you are ready to cook, add the salt, baking powder, eggs, and melted butter. Then stir to fully incorporate into the mixture.
If you are making pancakes, pour 1/4 – 1/2 cup of batter onto a heated griddle (set to approximately 325 degrees F) and bake 1-2 minutes per side until browned.
If you are making waffles, pour 1/4 – 1/2 cup of batter onto a waffle iron, close the lid and bake for about 1-2 minutes until browned.
Serve your pancakes and waffles with butter, syrup, jam, or honey, or eat them plain. They are delicious how ever you choose to serve them!
